applications for the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters, with
January 15th and April 15th as the respective submission deadlines.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Bogliasco Fellowships are awarded to gifted artists and scholars without regard to nationality, age, race, gender, or religion, working on projects of any subject area in the following disciplines: Archaeology, Architecture, Classics, Dance, Film/Video, History, Landscape Architecture, Literature, Music, Philosophy, Theater, and Visual Arts.

BOGLIASCO FOUNDATION
RESIDENTIAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Located in the village of Bogliasco on the Italian Riviera,
a region of extraordinary beauty whose landscape has
stimulated creative expression for centuries, the Bogliasco
Foundation offers one-month residencies to individuals of
all nations who can demonstrate notable achievement in
the arts and humanities.
Taking inspiration from the nearby ancient port of Genoa, which has brought global travelers together throughout the ages, the Foundation encourages ex- change by composing intimate groups of 12-14 residents, who represent a diversity of discipline, age, and nationality. In conversing over shared daily meals, Fellows discover the creative potential of being the ambassador of their discipline in a community of individuals whom they might not otherwise encounter in their daily lives. As communication patterns shift, perspectives broaden, fresh ideas emerge, and projects evolve in intriguing ways, often lead- ing to new collaborations. Fellows tell us that the unique environment fostered at the Study Center influences their work for years to come.

STUDY CENTER FACILITIES AND STUDIOS
The Bogliasco Study Center is comprised of three separate properties: Villa dei Pini, Villa Orbiana, and Villa Rincon. Villa dei Pini is located close to the Via Aurelia, which follows the traces of the ancient road built by the Romans to connect their capital to Ventimiglia and France. The property features a mature Genoese garden, shaded by pine trees, that drops steeply to the rocky shore of the Mediterranean. Villa Orbiana and Villa Rincon are situated further up the foot of the Apennines in an olive grove. While surrounded by a bustling semi- urban environment, the villas and their gardens offer an oasis of calm, with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Ligurian coastline.
Bogliasco Fellows are provided with living quarters (bedroom with private bath), board, and a separate private studio in one of the three villas. The music studio is equipped with an upright piano, keyboard, and a recording/playback system. The two visual arts studios have basic equipment for painting, sculpture and graphics; one includes a small printing press. The 400 square feet choreography studio features a sprung floor with Marley, a sound system, and optional 10 x 7 foot high mirrors. All studios are equipped with ample work surfaces, a desktop computer and printer, wired and wireless Internet service, which is also acces- sidle throughout the Study Center.
PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS
Although there is no cost for a residency, Fellows are responsible for their own travel to and from the Study Center, as well as project materials and any personal expenses incurred during the fellowship period. Fellows may be accompanied by spouses/partners, who will be charged a daily fee of $25 to help defray the cost of meals. Although the Foundation accepts collaborative Fellowships, applicants must submit separate applications and be prepared to share living quarters and/or studio space at the study center. The Study Center cannot accommodate children or other family members during residencies.
Through the support of generous donors who share our commitment to the arts and humanities, we are pleased to be able to offer Special Fellowships from time to time. Offered in partnership with other organizations, our Special Fellowships are dedicated to specific disciplines and may include stipends and reimbursement for travel. All applicants are automatically eligible for Special Fellowship status, and need not send any additional application materials.
